Hello KGV! My name is Ika and it’s an honour to be one of your Head Prefects for 2026. It’s crazy to think that my journey here began 5 years ago, and is almost coming to an end. As I look back, I can’t help but reect on my growth. I have nothing but gratitude for the people, experiences, and opportunities that have shaped my time here, and I feel so fortunate to be able to give back to the community with this role.

Heer Donda
Head Prefect
Hi KGV! I’m Heer and I’m truly grateful to be one of your Head Prefects for 2026. Becoming a part of KGV in 2020, I’ve practically grown up within these halls—through every conversation, deadline, and club—and it’s hard to imagine my school life elsewhere. My biggest source of strength throughout these years has been my family, friends and peers. As the middle child between two brothers, my house is rarely quiet. We argue over the smallest things, but they’re also the rst people I turn to when I need advice, a distraction, or just someone to laugh with. Their constant support reminds me that connections—messy or not—are what truly carry you through difficult times.

Head of KGV Student Council
Growing up, people who could speak up for unheard voices had my utmost respect, whether that be Greta Thunberg or someone in a zoom call telling the teacher that their microphone is o. Hence I wished to take my rst step towards becoming someone others can respect through becoming a student leader. I wanted to be a student leader to not only connect with the student body but to also connect the student body to the school board; although the wide community of KGV has its advantages, but sometimes that makes it dicult to hear individual voices. I believe my role as a student leader will best allow me to amplify such small yet valuable voices while fostering a community where more people can feel comfortable to speak up.

From entering KGV in 2020 as a Year 7 and experiencing school life as a mix of plastic barriers, masks, and Google Meets to over half a decade later in the middle of Year 12 in 2026, there’s always been one thing I’ve noticed that remains constant: our voices as students are always present but sometimes are unheard and underrepresented. As a student leader, one of the incredible opportunities is the chance to convey the ever-changing perspectives and ideas from our amazing student body to the school board, ensuring that real changes - the ones students want - are made. Finally, I look forward to recognising and appreciating every single distinct voice that arises within our community.
